Armor Preview NPC
The Armor Preview NPC: A NPC like the anatomical engineer, but instead of physical modifications it shows your character with various armors.
Main purpose: deciding what armor to purchase is a very complicated and expensive process. The only way to preview right now is to visit the wiki galleries, but they are 2D pics in a single color, which don't do the armors justice. And you cannot mix and match pieces from different sets. As for crafting all possible combinations in-game, painting them and trying them out... that's quite an expensive endeavour. Sure, for some armors you can practice with lower AL pieces, but for higher-end armor that's not possible.
Features:
* Only pieces of armor for the character's primary profession, of course.
* You can mix pieces from different sets.
* [Optional] A way to apply dye combinations on the pieces of armor inside the previewer, without actually having those dyes.
* [Optional] Also make available other pieces of armor, such as glasses, masks etc.
* [Optional] Also make available costumes/festival hats.
Basically, a sort of "dress-up" mini-game with armor pieces for your profession.
PS: I would gladly pay 8.99 EUR for access to this NPC (one time purchase, full access for all chars on the account). Take my money, ANet!
PS2: I know that something similar was proposed as the fitting room. I think my idea is simpler and more straightforward. And since the original idea is from 2005, I think it needs a bump!

this should have always been enabled.
I mean who would trade a backpack full of ectos and shards and random materials and just hand it over without trying the armor on?
I mean what if it constricted your privates or something?

I also had an Idea for a while, about an account wide armor discount perk. If you buy let's say a Kurzick armor piece/set, you get a 5% discount (up to a 30% max) in further purchases of said piece/set. The discount would apply to the material and gold/plat costs of armors.
I got this idea after finishing my HoM points and seeing the account wide Armor sets sitting in my hall.
But your idea seems so much easier to implement. Maybe this should be available only in Embark Beach, seeing as it's the only place to truly have full access to the whole game world (and it might bring in more people to the place, like they had originally planned).
Too many times have I wasted hundreds and hundreds of "plats" to try to add style to my Warrior (I hate looking like everybody else), only to be disappointed at the end result and turning back to a full set of the same armor.

I would love for them to implement the dyes as well as masks to see how they would look. I'm tired of having to buy glasses and seeing them clip with my hairstyle and then end up salvaging them because of it. Armor would definitely be great since GWW doesn't exactly have your exact look. Maybe they could put it with the makeover guy so that you could try on all the armors, accessories, hats, dyes and hairstyles all together? It would probably be a LOT of work for them but we can still dream I guess. /signed

Most other MMO's had this from the beginning. Guild Wars should have also.

Really, you should just be doing this if you want to discuss an old suggestion that is similar to what you are suggesting now, which is not really that different enough to warrant its own discussion.
